Mt. Nachi Seigantoji Temple / Main Temple
Monk Ragyo Shonin from India drifted ashore to Kumano Bay and lived in a hermitage at Mt. Nachi Seigantoji Temple in the fourth century. Today, the temple is famous for the first point of the Saigoku Sanjusansho (West Country Thirty-three Point Pilgrimage).
Shogun Hideyoshi Toyotomi had the temple rebuilt in 1590. It is a National Important Cultural Property.
