Nachi Falls / Nachi Falls
Nachi Falls flow out from as far as Mt. Okumotoriyama which is behind Mt. Nachi. After dozens of streams flow together, the falls finally flow straight down off the cliff, splitting Nachi Primeval Forest. They are the highest falls in Japan at 133 meters (436 feet).
These great falls, which are 13 meters (43 feet) wide with a fall basin 10 meters (33 feet) deep, have been revered as sacred since long ago. The falls are the cult center of Mt. Nachi.
