Heiji falls

Content Number:20568

Heiji falls
This waterfall tumbles in two stages for 33 meters on the Heiji River, a tributary of the Yomura River. The lower section is called the "mentaki" or smaller waterfall, and the upper section is the "ontaki" or larger waterfall. It is said that fleeing Heike warriors lived in secret here. The view at the top of the waterfall is solemn and mysterious, and a fudoson, or Buddhist guardian, is still enshrined here.
