Sennin Buro
Between November and February every year a section of the Oto River is partitioned off to make a vast open-air bath. Known as "Sennin Buro", the bath is popular as a seasonal tradition replete with rustic beauty. Its size varies slightly from year to year, as it is a product of nature's bounty. Water from the Oto River is mixed with the hot-spring water that gushes from the riverbed at a temperature of 73 degrees to produce a temperature of around 40 degrees. Surrounded only by reed screens, bathers love the feeling of liberation as they gaze up at the blue sky or the stars. There is no entrance fee.
