Kinan Guide on the Go

Yunomine Onsen is not just the oldest hot spring in Japan; it is famous as a place of purification on the Kumano pilgrimage, and is also where Oguri Hangan was revived. Here you will find Yunomine Public Bathhouse and Tsuboyu, which is closely linked with the Kumano faith and the only bathing-house in the world that is registered as a world heritage site.
Near to Tsuboyu is Yuzutsu, where water bubbles up at a temperature of 90C and eggs and vegetables can easily be boiled. Eggs and vegetables are on sale at a nearby shop.
