This waterfall is in the Kuwanoki Gorge on the Takata River, a tributary of the Kumano River. About 21m in height and 8m in width, it has been selected as one of the hundred best falls in Japan.
Although not extraordinarily large, the waterfall is very beautiful as it tumbles over mossy rocks amidst the silent cedars, creating a solemn and mysterious atmosphere. A gentle forest path leading to the waterfall makes for a perfect hike.
However, you will need to watch your footing, as the spray from the waterfall makes the area around it very slippery.
