Hongwan-ji Hidaka Branch
The Hongwan-ji Temple Hidaka Branch is a branch of the Jodo Shinshu Hongwan-ji-ha in Kyoto and is a branch of the Nishi Hongwan-ji in Kyoto.
It is also known as the "Gobo-dokoro" and "Gobo-sama" by the locals from its location near Gobo.
The surrounding area looks like an Edo period temple enclosed town scene, and looks as it did long ago.
The giant ginko trees within the temple are over 400 years old and are designated as Wakayama prefecture natural treasures.
They glint gold near the end of November.
