Kano-oji Shrine is one of the ninety-nine satellite shrines of the Kumano Kodo.
It was enshrined in 1908 (year 41 of the Meiji era).
It is believed to be a shrine for praying for success, finding work, getting married, giving birth, avoiding bad luck, and safety and is called "Okano-san" by locals with the meaning of making dreams come true.
When visiting by car, it is located close by the Inami Port T-intersection on National Highway 42 and there are 2 parking spaces for light (kei) cars in front of the torii gate.
