Tokei Shrine
The origin of the name of "Tokei (Fighting Rooster) Shrine" comes from when the father of Musashibo Benkei received a request for reinforcements from the Kumano navy from both sides in the battle of Dan-no-Ura, the Genji or the Heike, and had 7 roosters with two different colors of feathers, white for the Genji and red for the Heike, fight to decide on which side to support.
They say that his support of the Genji, because the white roosters won, was what determined the final outcome of the battle of Dan-no-Ura.
