Uchi-no-ura-higata Water Park
"Uchi-no-ura-higata Water Park" as its name suggests ("higata" means "tidal flat" in Japanese) is next to a tidal flat which is covered by the ocean at high tide and a beach at low tide.
There is an angular monument which shows the height of the ocean in 1854 (the first year of the Ansei era) and again during the Showa Nankai Seismic Tsunami in 1946 (year 21 of the Showa era).
The heights clearly show the scope of the tsunami at the time.
